Kiara Bulley
I am an Associate Lecturer in QUT’s Fashion faculty and teach in the areas of fashion practice and theory. Additionally I have extensive experience working in the Brisbane costume industry for theatre and performance. I was an original member of the Stitchery when it was founded in 2010.
As a practitioner I have been developing collaborative creative works and research through The Stitchery Collective. While our ethos will always centre around community engagement, I believe that our creative works have enormous potential to open up wide ranging discussions around design practices, fashion performances and displays, and other cultural practices surrounding fashion. I hope that we can continue to develop and expand our practice both within our collaborative creative works, balanced with more socially and community engaged projects. I am particularly interested in continuing to create new work, and sharing these as research projects through conferences and other industry forums.
